The School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics seeks to appoint a Lecturer in English to contribute to the strong research profile and successful teaching program in English, and to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues in literature and cultural studies across the School, including in Modern European Languages and Classical Studies.
The successful candidate will be expected to have an active research agenda and track record with expertise in 18th-century English literary studies and demonstrate a strong capacity to undertake excellent and innovative undergraduate teaching.
The English program, housed in the School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics, is a dynamic area with expertise ranging across British, Irish, American and Australian literature; literary history and theory; early modern studies, screen studies and digital humanities; book and reception studies; theatre studies; and creative writing. Our research underpins a vibrant undergraduate teaching program and fosters a thriving community of graduate students.
The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is one of seven Colleges at ANU. The College, which is structured into two main research schools, offers degrees in more than 20 discipline areas and excels in research across the creative arts, humanities and social sciences. The College has a substantial international research presence and is a major source of national policy advice. Our academic staff are internationally recognised for their research, and 57 are members of the Australian Academy of the Humanities, the Academy of the Social Sciences of Australia, or both. We also host 13 Australian Research Council Future Fellows and three ARC Laureates.
