The Department of English at Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Medieval literature and culture, with expertise in gender and sexuality studies or the global Middle Ages. We would also welcome scholars interested in questioning traditional periodization boundaries. The position will begin August 2023. Teaching load 2-2; salary competitive..
We seek candidates with outstanding research and teaching. All faculty in our department teach at all levels of the curriculum, from courses that serve the University core, including first year writing and first-year seminars, advanced courses in our English major, and graduate seminars for our MA and PhD programs. Faculty are expected to pursue a rigorous program of scholarship and to engage in service.
Requirements: Ph.D. by December 2022.
