Visiting Clinical Instructor/Assistant Professor of Hispanic Studies

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC invites applications for the position of Visiting Clinical Instructor/Assistant Professor of Hispanic Studies (non-tenure track, one-year contract), starting August 2022.

Responsibilities include full-time teaching (4:4), coordination of beginning and/or intermediate level language courses, active participation in departmental events, and service on departmental committees. Applicants must have: native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English; Ph.D. preferred, ABD considered; experience teaching Spanish language at an institution of higher education. Preference is given to candidates specializing in at least one of the following areas: 1) Spanish pedagogy or applied linguistics, 2) Spanish for specific purposes (heritage, translation, business, legal); 3) Latin American and Afro-Hispanic cultural studies and literature. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm and proven teaching excellence to provide innovative instruction along with a strong sense of commitment to support our undergraduate program and to assist in developing outreach initiatives in the Hispanic community.
