SWUFE (Southwestern University of Finance and Economics) is a top university specialized in finance, economics and business. SWUFE is located in Chengdu, the centre for development of western China and the fourth largest aviation hub in China.
SWUFE-UD Institute of Data Science at SWUFE (License No. MOE51USA02DNR20191972N), approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education, is jointly established by Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and the University of Delaware. It is located in Chengdu, China. Three undergraduate programs are offered in the joint institute: Information Management and Information System, Financial Mathematics, and Logistics Management, and we enrolled the first cohort of students in Fall, 2020. The institute aims to become internationalized innovation demonstration zone of the construction of first-class disciplines and undergraduate programs.
SWUFE-UD Institute of Data Science at SWUFE now invites candidates for this position which is expected to be filled in Spring or Fall 2023: Professor/Associate/Assistant Professor/Lecturer in English Language.
Candidates with expertise in one or more of the following teaching areas are welcome:
- English Speaking
- English Academic Writing
- English Literature and Composition
- English Intensive Reading
- English Linguistics
Applicants are invited from those with teaching interests in English, and will devote himself/herself to inspiring and motivating students as well as responding professionally and supportively to their written work and oral presentation by providing courses and guidance for undergraduate students regarding spoken English, academic writing, professional writing, intensive reading, and/or English literature. In terms of English teaching, the post holder will be expected to make a significant teaching contribution.
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree and above in a related discipline, Doctoral holder is preferred, have demonstrable experience of high-quality teaching with the ability to carry out on-campus teaching in Higher Education, as well as English learning supervision, along with excellent oral and written communication skills. Native English speaker with a Master’s degree in English, Cross-cultural communication, Linguistics, TESOL / TEFL and other related area will be preferred.
Appointment to this position will initially be made on a fixed-term contract. Salaries will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. Continuation of appointment beyond the initial term will be subject to mutual agreement.
