Tenure-track faculty position in Literature and the Environment

The Department of English seeks to appoint a tenure-track professor in Literature and the Environment. The successful candidate may be a scholar in any historical or cultural field of Anglophone literature. Knowledge of environmental science and familiarity with environmental literature in languages other than English will be favorably regarded. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2020. The tenure-track professor will be responsible for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. They will also be expected to contribute to the intellectual life of the Faculty and University by pursing a full program of scholarly research and course development, advising undergraduate and graduate students, overseeing independent research projects, and engaging in an appropriate amount of service. Doctorate in English or related discipline required by the time the appointment begins. Demonstrated strong commitment to teaching is desired.
