POSTDOC(S) IN REFUGEE, MIGRATION, OR TRANSCULTURAL STUDIES - School of Languages, Lits & Cultures

The School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures (SLLC) welcomes applications for the University of Missouri’s Preparing Future Faculty – Faculty Diversity (PFFFD) Postdoctoral Program

The SLLC seeks scholars with research specializations in Refugee, Migration, or Transcultural Studies to join a vibrant community of faculty members building an interdisciplinary program at the University of Missouri.

Preference will be given to research with a Chinese, Russian/Post-Soviet, or Francophone Maghreb emphasis, but we encourage interested scholars in related fields to apply.

Preparing Future Faculty – Faculty Diversity Postdoctoral Program Overview

The PFFFD program is designed to promote faculty diversity by developing scholars for tenure-track faculty positions at the University of Missouri and elsewhere. Applicants should demonstrate how they can contribute to faculty diversity, such as through membership in a group that is historically underrepresented or undeserved or through other training and experience.

The fellowships typically offer two years of support, during which time postdocs focus on further developing their independent research and publication projects while participating inorganized professional development activities. Usually, postdocs also have the opportunity to develop and teach two courses in the second year of the fellowship.

The postdoctoral stipend is $60,000 per year plus University benefits and professional development funds.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this program, applicants must have completed their doctoral (or terminal) degree or expect to complete their degree by July 1, 2023.
