Assistant or Advanced Assistant Professor of Russian

The Department of German and Russian Languages and Literatures at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for the position of Assistant or Advanced Assistant Professor of Russian. This is a tenure-track position.

The ideal candidate will have the Ph.D. in hand by the time of appointment, will possess experience teaching both Russian language and literature/culture classes, and will demonstrate potential to make significant scholarly contributions to the field of Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies.

The teaching load for this position will be 2/2, generally split evenly between language classes and courses on literary and cultural topics. The Department of German and Russian strives  to offer its students an experience similar to that found at selective liberal arts colleges. Therefore, the successful applicant will be expected to participate in the communal life of the department. We also contribute widely to the liberal arts curriculum at Notre Dame, and interdisciplinary interests in both research and pedagogy are welcome.
