Assistant or Associate Professor in Chinese Cultural Studies

The Department of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota invites applications for a full-time, tenured or tenure-track position to begin fall semester 2023 (08/28/2023) or later. We seek expertise in the analysis of Chinese literature, media, drama, or other cultural texts, from any historical period, though preference is for scholars who work on the late imperial/early modern periods. Areas of interest could include, but are not limited to, literature, performance/drama, material culture, gender/sexuality, environmental humanities, ethnicity, religion, and philosophy of science. The hire will be expected to participate in the administration of our Chinese Flagship program, a federally supported intensive Chinese language and culture training program for select undergraduates in diverse fields of study.
