The department of Romance, German, and Slavic Languages and Literatures at The George Washington University invites applications for one full-time renewable, non-tenure accruing, specialized appointment at the rank of Teaching Instructor of French starting as early as fall 2023 with an initial three-year appointment.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching seven (4/3) French language courses per year, as well as participation in the development, maintenance and implementation of curriculum and of assessment instruments.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have a M.A. or Masters 2 degree in French (language, French or Francophone studies, pedagogy (FLE), etc.) or a related field by the date of appointment. Demonstrated teaching excellence (course evaluations, classroom observations, etc.); native or near native fluency in French (oral and written); experience teaching at the university level; extensive knowledge of the use of multimedia and instructional technologies applied to classroom language instruction and a passion for the teaching of French and Francophone cultures at all levels.
