Associate Professor of Spanish Pedagogy/Applied Linguistics

The Department of Modern Languages & Literatures of Fordham University seeks applicants for a tenured Associate Professor position in Spanish, with expertise in Foreign Language Pedagogy and/or Second Language Acquisition, to be based primarily at Fordham's Rose Hill campus.  The successful candidate must demonstrate experience and expertise in second-language teaching theories, research, and methodologies and curricular development, program coordination, evaluation of teaching staff, and course assessment. The ideal candidate will have experience with communicatively oriented, proficiency-based, culturally sensitive, diverse and inclusive language instruction, with technology-based solutions for language learning, and evidence of excellence in teaching Spanish language at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. A doctorate in Spanish, Linguistics, Education, or a related field and native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English are required. Responsibilities include teaching and coordinating language courses at the Rose Hill and Lincoln Center campuses in close association with the Director of the Language Program, maintaining a productive research agenda, and contributing to department and university service.
