Assistant Professors of the Practice (3 positions)

The Boston College English Department seeks to hire three Assistant Professors of the Practice. These are full-time, non-tenure-track positions with a three-year renewable contract. Applicants should have a PhD in Composition, Literature, or a related field, or an MFA in Creative Writing. The teaching load for each position is 3/3, with primary responsibility to teach First-Year Writing and an introductory course for all undergraduates called Literature Core.

The appointment begins late-August 2023. Candidates are expected to have their PhD or MFA in hand by the start date. Boston College conducts pre-employment background checks as part of the hiring process and requires all its employees to be fully vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19.
