Assistant Professor - English (Tenure Track)

The English Department at Niagara University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position for an Assistant Professor in Nineteenth-century British Literature with expertise to offer additional courses in one or more of the following areas: 18th C or 20th C British literature; Literature for Children and Adolescents; Postcolonial Literary Studies or Comparative World Literatures.

We seek candidates with a strong commitment to undergraduate education and excellence in teaching. Responsibilities include contributing to our general education course, Literary Perspectives, as well as teaching upper-level courses in the candidate's areas of specialization and interest. The position carries a 3/3 teaching load, in addition to advising majors; contributing to the department, University, and/or community service; and engaging in scholarship. The successful candidate may also contribute courses to the University's first-year social justice seminar.
