Visiting Assistant Professor of English, Transatlantic Literature- three-year position

We seek a candidate broadly trained in the literature of the early Atlantic world, to teach courses in transatlantic literature before 1900, which might include Caribbean literature and the  literature of slavery and diaspora. We especially welcome applications from candidates able to teach courses in early modern British literature. The successful candidate will also teach first- year writing and core courses such as the introduction to the English major and Critical Theory.

Colby is a highly selective liberal arts college recognized for excellence in undergraduate education and close student-faculty interaction. We are especially interested in candidates who, through their scholarship, teaching and service will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the campus community.
