Assistant Professor

 

Northwestern University’s department of French and Italian invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor specializing in nineteenth century French and Francophone literatures and cultures, beginning September 1, 2023. Successful candidate will teach four courses per year at the graduate and undergraduate levels distributed over three quarters. We are especially interested in strong interdisciplinary approaches that bring19th century literature and cultural expressions into conversation with fields such as feminist theory, gender and sexuality studies, colonial/decolonial studies, and environmental humanities.

 

Interested candidates should submit a CV, cover letter, a writing sample no more than 25 pages in English or French, an equity and diversity statement relating to research and/or pedagogy, and three letters of reference by Friday November 4th.
