Assistant Professor of Spanish

The Department of World Languages and Cultures at Providence College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Spanish beginning August 2023.

 

We seek to hire someone with expertise in Modern and Contemporary Spanish literature and culture and an interest in interdisciplinary research in Afro-Hispanic, diaspora or transatlantic studies.

 

The ability to teach all levels of Spanish language and literature classes is essential and an interest in developing Spanish for the Professions courses is particularly desirable.

Qualified applicants would demonstrate an established record of scholarly publication, show commitment to student-centered, interactive pedagogy as well as effective mentoring of our increasingly diverse student body.

Candidates must possess a PhD in Spanish by the time of the appointment and are required to have native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English.
