In addition to maintaining an active research program, candidates are expected to contribute to the Department’s teaching and service missions by teaching, advising, and mentoring students. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to teach upper-level undergraduate and introductory graduate courses in Hispanic Linguistics on syntax and/or semantics, as well as specialized graduate-level seminars, and, when appropriate, contribute to curricular development. The Ohio State University has a strong institutional commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in all areas. We favor candidates who can promote interdisciplinary perspectives, intercultural understanding, sensitivity and respect among our departmental community and the wider communities we serve.
Applicants must have a PhD in Hispanic Linguistics, Linguistics or a related field by the time of appointment (August 15, 2023) Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English are required. The successful candidate will demonstrate a record of publications in peer-reviewed journals or the promise of an emerging publication record. Willingness to work collaboratively with faculty and to mentor students from a wide range of cultures and academic backgrounds is preferred.
