Assistant Professor of Spanish

The Department of Languages & Literary Studies at Lafayette College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Spanish at the rank of Assistant Professor. The area of specialization is Latin American Contemporary Literature and Cultural Production, with a sub-specialization focused on Andean Studies, Mexican Studies, and/or Indigenous Studies. The appointment will begin July 1, 2023.  The teaching load is 2/2 in the first year, 3/2 thereafter. The PhD is required by the start of fall semester 2023.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at all levels of the undergraduate Spanish program and in Lafayette’s core curriculum. Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English is required. The ability to teach interdisciplinary courses is a plus. We encourage applications from candidates with a proven record of published and ongoing scholarship and a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience demonstrating a strong commitment to inclusive pedagogies, curricular development, and instructional technologies.
