The position begins August, 2023. It is part of a cluster hire across the College of Arts and Sciences, forming a new multidisciplinary initiative focused on the topic of “Race and Social Justice” as a line of inquiry in teaching and/or research. We seek individuals committed to being outstanding teacher-scholars within a primarily undergraduate-serving college. The successful applicant will teach a 3-3 course load that includes introductory courses in composition and literature, as well as upper division elective courses in their area of expertise. A PhD in English or a relevant field is required to be in-hand by the beginning of the contract.

The successful candidate will join an energetic and growing department of English with faculty colleagues who specialize in creative writing, rhetoric and composition, and literary studies; our department boasts strengths in medical humanities, literature and the environment, writing and justice, and global engagement.
