Job Description:

The Department of English invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of English specializing in Environmental Humanities or Medical Humanities to begin Fall 2023. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research and teaching has the potential to create connections with Sociology, Anthropology, Engineering, Science, and/or Health Sciences. Evidence of grant-writing is also desirable, since the new hire will be expected to apply for humanities grants and/or interdisciplinary grants. We seek a candidate whose record of teaching aligns with our department's curricular needs across our graduate programs in literature, rhetoric, and English education.


Requirements:

Ph.D. in English, Rhetoric, or Comparative Literature by August 31, 2023. Active research agenda and strong commitment to teaching first generation students at a Hispanic-Serving Institution.
