Director of the Weinberg College Language Resource Center

The Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern University invites applications for an advanced teaching-track continuing faculty (non-tenure eligible) position [the equivalent of Professor of Instruction at Northwestern] and inaugural Director of the Weinberg College Language Resource Center. This is a renewable, full-time, benefits eligible appointment to begin September 1, 2023. The successful candidate will be appointed in one of the Weinberg College Language Departments or Programs and will serve for a renewable 3-year term as the inaugural Director of the Weinberg College Language Resource Center. Candidates must have a Ph.D. and extensive experience teaching a second language and/or linguistics at the university level as well as native or near-native command of a language other than English, and a professional-level of proficiency in English. The ideal candidate will also have strong administrative skills, thrive on collaboration and be able to establish relationships with other university units, as well as create and support exciting new initiatives on campus and beyond. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in second language acquisition and pedagogy, including a deep familiarity with current theories and methods of instruction, assessment, and technologies devoted to language acquisition and cultural learning at all levels and for a wide range of languages (both commonly and less-commonly taught).
