Position Summary: The Department of English at Gettysburg College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in U.S. Literature Before 1900, beginning August 2023. Candidates will be expected to teach six courses in the 2023-2024 year, which will include four courses in the field and two first-year writing courses.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in English or comparable field by time of appointment is preferred. The successful candidate will have a strong research agenda, be committed to the teaching of undergraduates, and contribute to the diversity of our curriculum and/or community.
