The Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the University of Florida, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track, Assistant Professor position, to begin August 16, 2023, in Italian and French Studies.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to a robust program in Foreign Languages and Literatures by 1) teaching two language and culture courses in Italian and French per semester, 2) maintaining an active research agenda, and 3) providing service to the department, the university, and the profession. Period of specialization for this position is open, but the department is particularly interested in candidates whose teaching and research address areas such as the following: Mediterranean Studies, the Literature and Cinema of Migration, Environmental Humanities, Transnational Studies, Film and Visual Culture. An ability to contribute to the departmental Translation Certificate would be highly valuable.
A Ph.D. in a relevant field is required. Candidates are expected to demonstrate excellence in research, publication, and teaching. The Department is interested in candidates who will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in higher education through their teaching, research, and service.
