Assistant Professor in Caribbean Cultural Studies since 1800

The Department of Latin American and Iberian Cultures at Columbia University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Caribbean Cultural Studies in any period since 1800, to begin
July 1, 2023.


Ph.D. must be in hand by the appointment start date. While specialization in Caribbean cultural production is required, the Department welcomes the study of related topics in the US diaspora. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to contribute to Columbia College's Core Curriculum. Candidates must have an outstanding scholarly and teaching record that reflects a strong commitment to Latin American and Caribbean Cultural
Studies and eagerness to work closely with graduate and undergraduate students.
