Assistant Professor

Job Description or Duties: Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Composition and Rhetoric. The faculty member will teach regularly scheduled General Studies courses in composition, as well as upper-division and graduate courses in his or her area(s) of expertise on a rotating basis. Base load is 12 hours a semester with scholarly reassignment possible for those who qualify for a 9-hour load. All tenure-track faculty participate in research and scholarly activities; provide academic advising to students as assigned; and engage in service to the department, University, and profession.

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in English with a specialization in Composition and Rhetoric or a related field by August 2023; evidence of teaching excellence; evidence of strong scholarship or scholarly potential.

Preferred Qualifications: Secondary area of specialization in Children’s and/or Young Adult literature. Interest in or experience with online teaching a plus.
