Assistant Professor of Creative Writing

The University of Central Missouri seeks candidates for a tenure-track position in Creative Writing at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning on August 8, 2023. An MFA or PhD in Creative Writing with a specialization in creative nonfiction is required; candidates with an ABD may be considered. A secondary area of specialization in poetry is preferred. The ideal candidate will have at least one significant publication in the field of creative nonfiction and at least one significant publication in poetry. 

The position contributes to the department’s program in general education, including first-year Composition, and it includes a significant editorial role for Pleiades: Literature in Context. Previous editorial experience is required. The annual course load is 4/3, including one course release for work on Pleiades
