Assistant Professor of French Studies

The Department of Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is seeking applications for a tenure-track position in post-1900 French Literature and Culture at the rank of assistant professor, to begin fall 2020. PhD in French or related field is required. Teaching responsibilities include upper-division undergraduate and graduate classes in the area of specialization, although the candidate must also demonstrate the ability to teach an undergraduate French Cinema survey. Native or near-native proficiency in French and English is essential. Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and in scholarly research. Review of applicants will begin November 1, 2019 and will continue until the position is filled.
