Lecturer in Spanish

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Indiana University invites applications for full-time non-tenure-track positions at the rank of Lecturer to begin August 2023. These are initially three-year appointments with the potential for renewal and, in the sixth year, promotion to the rank of senior lecturer.

 

Duties involve teaching first- and/or second-year Spanish, 3 courses per semester. Qualifications: native or near-native proficiency in Spanish; MA (PhD. preferred) in Spanish, applied linguistics, or related field; minimum of four years teaching experience at the college/university level. Desirable: evidence of excellence in teaching college-level Spanish and experience with online teaching and computer-assisted instruction. Preference will be given to candidates with a solid background in the communicative approach and online teaching experience. H1-B sponsorship is not available for this position.
