The Duke University English Department invites nominations and applications for a chaired tenure track or tenured position in Digital Humanities at the rank of advanced assistant or associate professor. The department seeks specialists working in any region or period, and we are especially interested in expertise in computational methods of literary analysis and cultural analytics. Candidates should be able to engage data-driven methods from the standpoint of critic and practitioner. Those involved in data justice projects are especially encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will have a PhD in English literature, comparative literature, or a related discipline, be published researchers, superb writers, and dynamic communicators across disciplines. They will also be imaginative, effective teachers committed to training undergraduate and graduate students in traditional classroom environments and in collaborative project teams. Applicants at the associate level must be no more than 4 years out from promotion to the rank of associate professor at the time of application. Applicants at the assistant level must have Ph.D. in hand at the time of application.
