The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures (LLC) at McGill University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Southern European Literature and Cultural Studies with a concentration on Italy and Spain to begin on August 1, 2023. Time period is open. Candidates working in any of the following fields are strongly encouraged to apply: Mediterranean studies, immigration studies, race theory, gender studies, film studies, digital media, and environmental studies. Candidates must demonstrate competitive research and publication records, substantial teaching experience, and a strong potential for collaborative research and program development across media, disciplines, and cultures. The successful candidate will be expected to be able to teach, conduct research and publish in both Spanish and Italian. Knowledge of French is an asset.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in hand or be very near completion. The teaching assignment will be 12 credits (4 courses) per academic year and should include a range of courses covering Italian and Hispanic Literature and Culture at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
