Continuing Lecturer in English at UNT

The Department of English at the University of North Texas, a Minority and Hispanic Serving Institution, invites applications for a continuing lecturer position. This position is full-time, renewable, comes with a competitive salary, and includes benefits. Responsibilities for the position include teaching four courses each semester in first-year writing to a diverse student population. The desired starting date is 16 January 2023. Successful candidates will join a diverse, collaborative, internationally recognized group of colleagues in the Department of English.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have an MFA or PhD in English, Composition Studies, or an associated field. Candidates should be prepared to teach at a Minority-Serving and Hispanic-Serving institution and provide evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom. In addition, candidates should have demonstrated excellence in first-year writing instruction. 

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants who have expertise or experience teaching developmental writing and teaching diverse populations of students, or ability to teach Beginning Fiction, Career Advancement for Majors, Early British Literature, or Literary Editing and Publishing.
