The Department of Humanities and Communication seeks a tenure-track assistant professor with a Ph.D. in English, Rhetoric & Composition, Humanities, or related field. Applicants who are ABD with dissertations near completion and who are scheduled to graduate before August 2023 will also be considered. Teaching duties, to begin August 2023, include a combination of general education courses such as first year writing and lower- and upper-level humanities. Candidates must have demonstrated excellence in teaching and a commitment to teaching general education. The first-year course load will be 3/3; thereafter, it will be 4/3 until tenured. Service duties could include participation on departmental, college, and university committees; and other activities to support the department. Successful candidates must have a research profile and/or a goal of establishing a sustained record of scholarly presentations and publications. This nine-month position includes the possibility of summer teaching opportunities. Salary is commensurate with credentials and experience. Applications are due November 15, 2022.
