Assistant Professor of English - World Literature

North Carolina Wesleyan College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of English to start in August 2020. A Ph.D. in English with specialization in Transatlantic, African Diaspora, Caribbean, or Post-Colonial literatures is required. Secondary specialization in digital humanities or comparative rhetoric is desired. The successful candidate will teach first-year writing courses, world literature survey courses, and upper-level literature courses.

North Carolina Wesleyan College, an undergraduate liberal arts college emphasizing teaching excellence and personal attention, is located in the eastern North Carolina city of Rocky Mount and serves approximately 2,000 students, including those in the Adult and Professional Studies program.  Faculty are expected to engage students through the use of both traditional and innovative instructional strategies.
