Lecturer in Language and Culture Studies (Italian)

TRINITY COLLEGE’s Department of Language and Culture Studies invites applications for a renewable Lectureship in Italian language, literature (modern and contemporary), and film studies, beginning July 2023. The teaching load is 5 courses annually, and the non-tenure stream lectureship can be renewed every two years, with the possibility of promotion. The Department of Language and Culture Studies offers courses in ten different languages and is committed to innovation in pedagogy across all levels of our curriculum. We are seeking candidates who have a record of undergraduate and interdisciplinary teaching in a liberal arts context and whose research profile complements the department’s current areas of strength. The successful candidate will teach Italian courses at all levels of the curriculum, as well as English-language content courses in their research area. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching diverse undergraduate students in a liberal arts context, and they will be expected to participate actively in the service of our department. A PhD is required by July 1, 2023.

To apply, please submit a cover letter that addresses your teaching philosophy and approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom; a curriculum vitae; and a writing sample via https://trincoll.peopleadmin.com/postings/2790 .  Applicants will be asked to list contact information for three reference providers, including email addresses. Once a completed dossier is submitted, emails will be generated to reference providers, directing them to submit letters to a unique URL. Applicants using Interfolio (or other dossier service) should provide the appropriate unique Interfolio email address for each reference letter writer. All application materials are due by November 30, 2022. Consideration of applications will begin December 1, 2022 and will continue until the position is filled. Zoom interviews will be conducted in January 2023, and campus visits are expected to take place in February 2023.
