The Department of English and Creative Writing at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio, is seeking a full-time, academic year, non-renewable, term-faculty Assistant Professor of English to begin in August of 2023. The successful candidate will be able to teach in a wide variety of contemporary subjects that may include one or more of the following: US minority lit such as African American, Asian American, Latinx, etc. studies; feminist/queer/trans/posthuman studies; disability studies; science studies/medical humanities; video game and new media studies; post-colonial studies; eco-criticism and environmental studies. Broadly trained candidates with expertise in diverse domestic literatures are strongly encouraged to apply.
A Ph.D. or ABD in English or a related area by the time of appointment, interdisciplinary expertise, teaching experience in related areas, and willingness to mentor undergraduate students are required. The successful candidate will be called on to teach the composition course, ENG 131, and courses on 20th/21st Century literature, and other courses related to the candidate's interests and students' interests (candidates are asked to specify primary and secondary areas).
Baldwin Wallace University is a selective liberal arts university on the outskirts of Cleveland, Ohio. Its Department of English and Creative Writing serves approximately 80 majors and 40 minors. BW emphasizes teaching, advising, and service, while it also encourages and supports scholarship.

The cover letter must include a statement of interest in Baldwin Wallace; an explanation of the applicant's expertise in literature written in language that would excite undergraduates and faculty who are outside the field; teaching philosophy; a description of relevant teaching experience referencing the course topics mentioned above; and a brief description of research on the disciplinary themes mentioned above. Additional documentation will be requested of search finalists.
