Lecturer in Digital Writing

The English Department at Coastal Carolina University seeks applicants for a lecturer position specializing in Digital Writing beginning in Fall of 2023. We are seeking a colleague with teaching expertise in First-Year Composition and New Media to teach classes in our First-Year Writing Program as well as our Digital Culture and Design Program. Primary teaching assignments will be in core level Digital Culture and Design courses in addition to composition courses. Teaching assignments may include evening and distance-learning courses.

The successful candidate will ideally hold a Ph.D. in English, will have training and experience in first-year composition and digital humanities, and will have at least three years of college-level teaching experience. Those with interests in digital composing and culture, the teaching of writing in multimodal platforms, and introductory coding (HTML/CSS), as well as an investment in student success are strongly encouraged to apply. The teaching load will be 15 credits per semester, or 30 credits per academic year. Appointments are renewable annually and include benefits.
