Writer in Residence, Genre Writing

The Fordham University English department invites applications for a Writer in Residence with a specialization in genre writing. We are interested in applicants with expertise in any of these fields: graphic novels, fantasy, speculative fiction, or young adult fiction. This is a two year appointment with the expectation, upon review, of an additional three year renewal. Required: MFA or PhD and teaching experience at the college level. The successful candidate can expect to offer 2/2 teaching load of undergraduate workshops at our Bronx Rose Hill campus and to lead tutorials; to administer university creative writing prizes; to edit a campus literary publication; and to participate actively in the administration of Fordham's growing creative writing program. Application materials should also address how the candidate's teaching, mentoring, scholarship, and/or community service supports Fordham's commitment to diversity. Salary range is $60,000-$63,000/year with benefits included. Please send a curriculum vitae, a sample of your published creative work, a genre creative writing workshop syllabus, three letters of recommendation and a cover letter detailing your teaching philosophy to Creative Writing Director, Sarah Gambito, via Interfolio.
