Assistant Teaching Professor of French (NTT)

The School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures invites applications for a full-time position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor of French.

Principal responsibilities include coordination of the elementary French language sequence; training, mentoring, and monitoring of Teaching Assistants; curricular development and enhancement; instruction of lower and upper-level courses (as per programmatic needs); participation in “Passeport Culturel” and other French program initiatives; proactive support and enhancement of extracurricular activities (e.g., French club, film series, conversation hours).

A PhD in French is required at the time of appointment. Candidates will be evaluated on their ability to teach upper-level courses such as the Structure of Modern French, French Stylistics, Bilingualism, Commercial French, and other offerings designed to strengthen our Master of Language Teaching program, and experience in new modes of instructional technology. Candidates should have native or near-native fluency in French and English.
