The English Department seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of English specializing in African American and/or African Diasporic Literature to fill a position beginning Fall 2023. The successful candidate will also teach lower-division literature courses focused on issues of ethics/justice. The teaching load for research-active faculty is 3-3.
To ensure consideration, applicants should submit a cover letter, c.v., graduate transcripts (unofficial transcripts acceptable at initial stage), and a 1-2 page teaching philosophy that explicitly addresses diversity in teaching, mentoring, research, and/or service through Xavier University's website https://jobs.silkroad.com/Xavier/apply/jobs/2840 by December 20, 2022. Three letters of recommendation should be sent by recommenders to the address firstname.lastname@example.org by December 20, 2022. Only complete dossiers submitted and received by the deadline will be considered. Initial interviews of selected candidates will be conducted via video conference in January, and finalists will be invited to campus for interviews thereafter. For questions, contact Dr. Graley Herren, English Department Chair (email@example.com).
