The Department of English at Creighton University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor in the field of multiethnic Anglophone literature. The field(s) of sub-specialization and the era are open, but preference will be given to candidates whose work engages with medical and/or health humanities.

The position begins August, 2023. It is part of a cluster hire across the College of Arts and Sciences, forming a new multidisciplinary initiative focused on the topic of Race and Social Justice as a line of inquiry in teaching and/or research. We seek individuals committed to being outstanding teacher-scholars within a primarily undergraduate-serving college. The successful applicant will teach a 3-3 course load that includes introductory courses in composition and literature, as well as upper division elective courses in their area of expertise. A PhD in English or related field is required to be in-hand by the beginning of the contract.

The successful candidate will join an energetic and growing department of English with faculty colleagues who specialize in creative writing, rhetoric and composition, and literary studies; our department boasts strengths in medical humanities, literature and the environment, writing and justice, and global engagement. The department also hosts the renowned Henry James Center.
