TRINITY COLLEGE’s Department of Language and Culture Studies invites applications for a two-year renewable Lectureship in Hispanic Studies to teach all levels of Spanish language beginning July 2023.

We are seeking candidates who have a record of undergraduate teaching, and particular consideration will be given to specialists in Spanish pedagogy and/or second language acquisition who can also work closely with heritage students. Demonstrated research agenda in these topics is desirable.

The teaching load is 5 courses annually, and the non-tenure stream lectureship can be renewed every two years, with the possibility of promotion. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching diverse undergraduate students in a liberal arts context, and they will be expected to participate actively in the service of our department. The Department of Language and Culture Studies offers courses in ten different languages and is committed to innovation in pedagogy across all levels of our curriculum.

A PhD in Hispanic literature or Spanish linguistics is required by July 1, 2023.

To apply, please submit a cover letter that addresses your teaching philosophy and approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom; a curriculum vitae; and student evaluations for the past two years via https://trincoll.peopleadmin.com/postings/2805.

Applicants will be asked to list contact information for three reference providers, including email addresses. Once a completed dossier is submitted, emails will be generated to reference providers, directing them to submit letters to a unique URL. Applicants using Interfolio (or other dossier service) should provide the appropriate unique Interfolio email address for each reference letter writer.

Consideration of applications will begin on January 6, 2023 and will continue until the position is filled. Zoom interviews and campus visits will be conducted in February-March 2023.
