Xavier University seeks a full-time non-tenure-track Teaching Professor of English beginning Fall 2023. The Teaching Professor position is renewable on a yearly basis, with the potential after six years for promotion to Senior Teaching Professor with a rolling two-year renewable contract. Successful candidates will teach Composition, Rhetoric, First-Year Seminar, and other core-level writing and literature courses. An established record of teaching excellence in writing and literature is expected. A Master’s degree in English (or a closely related field) and three or more years of previous teaching experience are required. The teaching load is 4 courses (12 credit hours) each fall and spring semester. There are no research expectations for this position, but some support is available for professional development opportunities. Teaching Professors are also expected to be active in service to the department, college, university, and/or community.
