Two- Year Visiting Professor, German

 

The Department of German at Middlebury College seeks a dynamic, engaged candidate for a two-year visiting position in German with two courses per semester plus winter term, to begin in the fall of 2023. Specialization open, but expertise in Cinema and Media Studies is a plus. Ph.D. in German or a related field (completed by July 1st 2023) strongly preferred. Responsibilities include teaching a combination of lower- and upper-division courses in German language and culture and supporting undergraduate engagement. Our program is founded on close student-faculty interaction and a passion for teaching is a must. We are looking for a candidate with an excellent command of German and a proven record of excellence in teaching in the American educational system. The ideal candidate will also bring innovative ideas for undergraduate courses at all levels and is familiar with current instructional technologies.
