Consortium for Faculty Diversity Postdoctoral Fellow in Gender and Sexuality Studies

The Program in Gender and Sexuality Studies at Swarthmore College invites applications to the Consortium for Faculty Diversity for a two-year CFD postdoctoral teaching position hosted at Swarthmore, beginning with the fall semester of 2023. We seek a scholar of intersectional feminist, queer, and/or trans studies who focuses on race, ethnicity, and/or indigeneity in the United States or comparative global contexts. The fellow will be expected to teach one course each semester, including Introduction to Gender and Sexuality Studies and a course in their specialization. The candidate will be mentored by senior faculty in the interdisciplinary Program in Gender and Sexuality Studies and will be granted ample time and resources to focus on their scholarly work.

The Consortium for Faculty Diversity is “committed to increasing the diversity of … faculty members and curricular offerings at liberal arts colleges.” Applicants must be able to provide evidence of U.S. citizenship or unconditional permanent residency status at the time of hire.

Candidates should have their PhD in Gender and Sexuality Studies or a related discipline by August 2023. The strongest candidates will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to creative teaching and an active research program that speaks to and motivates undergraduates from diverse backgrounds.
