Modern Languages - Clinical Assistant Professor, Spanish

To add to our esteemed faculty, the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures of Dyson College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for an anticipated faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor of Spanish (non-tenure track) beginning September 2023. The position is located at the University’s New York City campus in lower Manhattan.

The successful candidate should be prepared to teach four undergraduate courses (12 credits) per semester in Spanish language ranging from beginning to advanced, as well as Latin American and/or Peninsular culture courses taught in English.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills in Spanish and English, experience in second language acquisition pedagogy and experience coordinating multiple sections of language courses. In addition, service to the Department is a requirement of this position.

Position Qualifications:

Candidates should have an earned PhD in Spanish and have at least 3 years of experience teaching at a university. Native or near-native ability in Spanish is required, as well as proficiency in the use of technologies for the language classroom and demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching.
