Visiting Assistant Professor of English

Providence College invites applications for a two-year Visiting Assistant Professor in English with a specialty in Journalism and Digital Media beginning in the fall of 2023. Candidates should possess an MA or PhD in English, Journalism, Communication, or a related field. This position comes with a teaching load of 3-3. The successful candidate can expect to teach first-year core writing courses and Journalism.  

Candidates should have outstanding and ongoing publications, a record of excellence in undergraduate teaching, and a strong commitment to serving diverse students through a lens of equity and inclusion. Additionally, candidates must have a willingness to be active in service to the department, the college, and the community.  

Letter of application, curriculum vitae, writing sample, three letters of recommendation, and transcripts should be submitted electronically to by February 1, 2023. Candidates will be asked to submit additional materials at a future date. Semi-finalist interviews will take place on Zoom.
