Continuing Non -Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Spanish

The Spanish Department at Colby College invites applications for a continuing non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Spanish position, starting September 1, 2023. 

We seek a person with the demonstrated ability to teach language courses at all levels, from beginning Spanish to intermediate composition and conversation courses. This position helps to support a dynamic and robust language curriculum that leans on the pedagogical skills and research expertise of our departmental faculty. This position is open to skilled language instructors in all research fields. Candidates with research areas in Peninsular studies or second-language acquisition are especially encouraged to apply.  

Principle responsibilities include teaching five language courses per academic year, an ongoing program of research, and a willingness to contribute to the intellectual life of the college.

Review of materials will begin on March 1 and continue until the search is completed.

Qualifications

The successful applicant will have PhD. in hand by August 2023, native or near-native command of Spanish, and demonstrated ability in teaching language and literature/culture.
