Lecturer on Comparative Literature

This is a one-year appointment, potentially renewable for another two years. The appointment is expected to begin on January 1, 2024. Teaching duties will include three courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, together with advising students in the department’s undergraduate and graduate secondary concentrations in Translation Studies.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Translation Studies or in Comparative Literature with a primary focus on translation. We seek candidates who are doing innovative work in translation studies, and who are able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the history, theory, and practice of translation. Applicants must be able to demonstrate substantial work with original-language materials in at least three languages beyond English. Applicants must have received the PhD or equivalent degree or show clear evidence of planned receipt of the degree by the beginning of employment.
