Assistant Professor of Instruction in Spanish

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Northwestern University invites applications for TWO full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure track teaching faculty positions for the Spanish Language Program, to begin on September 1, 2020. The term of the appointments will be two years. Responsibilities include: teaching 3 Spanish language courses per quarter.  Course relief for administrative responsibilities is possible. Requirements include native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English, teaching experience of Spanish as a second/foreign language, and expertise in current teaching methodologies in the integration of technology in the classroom. Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics or in a field related to Spanish language instruction is highly desired. Familiarity with the ACTFL proficiency guidelines and current foreign/second language pedagogical practices desired.
