Assistant Teaching Professor or Lecturer of Game Design and Development

Penn State Behrend's School of Humanities and Social Sciences seeks to hire a full-time non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor of Game Design and Development starting Fall 2023. Qualified candidates must hold at least a Master's degree and have experience developing and teaching the creation of video games. The successful candidate will work with the Digital Media, Arts, and Technology program and the Computer Science and Software Engineering department, advising students, and providing service to the school, college, and University.

The typical teaching load for this position is four courses a semester, with the potential for some variance. Teaching assignments will be at the undergraduate level and may include both residential and virtual delivery. The successful candidate will teach core and elective courses for the Game Development minor, especially those in-game narrative design and media. They may teach or co-teach the Game Development capstone course with faculty in Computer Science and Software Engineering. They may also teach in the discipline in which they were trained. Some experience in scripting or programming games is preferred, as is a willingness to collaborate with several intersecting fields.
