The Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations at Harvard University invites applications for a lecturer in classical Japanese (bungo) and kanbun. The lecturer will be responsible for teaching four courses of classical Japanese (bungo) and kanbun ranging from introductory to advanced levels. The annual appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2023, and is for one year with the possibility for renewal for a maximum total of three years.
A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline is required by the expected start date.
Previous experience teaching classical Japanese and/or kanbun is preferred.
